



Ravenscroft Ship Management Inc. opened its doors in Florida on January 8th, 1990, having transferred from New York, where it was established in 1982. Originally, operating as a Company beneficially owned by the Menendez family, who are fourth generation ship owners, residing in Argentina. Ravenscroft is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Ultrapetrol (Bahamas) Limited as an industrial shipping company incorporated in the Commonwealth of Bahamas and quoted on the NASDAQ Stock Market under the ticker symbol ULTR.
Since 1990, Ravenscroft has expanded to a US based, full service ship management company, trading worldwide. Ravenscroft’s clients have included entities other than those related to the Menendez family.
The tonnage managed by Ravenscroft has varied from large capsize, Panamax and bulk carriers, to chemical tankers, platform supply vessels, general cargo ships and passenger vessels. We have representative offices are in Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Aberdeen and Mumbai.
Today we have a staff in Miami comprising of 30 persons, two-thirds of whom are engaged in ship management, i.e., Technical, Fleet Personnel, Purchasing, QASA, etc. and one-third of the staff are divided between Accounting, Administration and Commercial activities. Separately we have a total staff of 14 persons in our Buenos Aires, Rio Aberdeen and Mumbai offices.
We are duly certified for compliance with the ISM Code; additionally Ravenscroft opted to have ISO certification to indicate the Quality of the services provided to its clients. The ISM DOC and the ISO 9000-2000 certification is issued by Bureau Veritas.
The scope of this certification includes tankers, bulk carriers, chemical tankers and other cargo ships. The present tonnage under management includes:
Miami – 1 Cape size bulk carrier.
Buenos Aires – 2 oil tanker, 3 chemical tankers, 1 Cellular Container Vessel and 1 tug/barge combination.
Rio de Janeiro – 6 Platform supply vessels + 4 under construction.
